Paris By Night 123: Ảo Ảnh

Last month, Trung Tâm Thúy Nga held the live taping for Paris By Night 123, “Ảo Ảnh” at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Being marketed as the biggest show of the year, fans had high expectations for Paris By Night 123, along with much curiosity as to how the show will highlight the theme, “Ảo Ảnh”.
“Ảo Ảnh” can be roughly translated as “illusion” or “mirage” in different contexts, and one way that Paris By Night 123 showcased this theme was through performances by magician, Jason Latimer. Latimer was featured in 4 separate acts throughout the show, allowing audiences to fully witness his talents and bring something different and truly “magical” to the show!
Of course, Paris By Night 123 mainly features musical performances from a number of Paris By Night singers, including the returns of Trần Thái Hòa, Kỳ Phương Uyên, Như Loan and Lương Tùng Quang who were absent in the last show, as well as Dương Triệu Vũ who made his return after many years. The opening performance was a medley of 3 songs “Ảo Ảnh,” “Bésame Mucho,” and “Quizás Quizás Quizás” performed by Lam Anh, Thiên Tôn and Nguyễn Hưng along with Hoàng Mỹ An and Trung Thành as featured dancers. Other notable performances include Như Loan and Hà Thanh Xuân’s medley of songs by Khúc Lan, beloved duet partners Trần Thái Hòa and Ngọc Hạ performing Ngô Thụy Miên’s “Trong Nỗi Nhớ Muộn Màng”, Như Quỳnh’s rendition of “Lan & Điệp 4” by Hamlet Trương, and Hoàng Oanh’s performance of “Lẻ Bóng” and “Ai Cho Tôi Tình Yêu” which later featured singers Như Quỳnh, Phi Nhung, Tâm Đoan and Mai Thiên Vân.
Paris By Night 123, “Ảo Ảnh” was certainly one of the biggest shows of the year, and fans can look forward to the DVD and Blu-Ray release later this year. Please be sure to purchase an ORIGINAL copy at your local Vietnamese music store, or online at www.thuyngashop.com.
