Man pleads guilty in connection with Bordentown Twp. drug death
Hamilton (Burlington County Times, July 22,2017): A Mercer County man pleaded guilty Friday to providing drugs that led to the death of a 25-year-old Bordentown Township man in November.
Thao Nguyen, 27, of Hamilton, entered his plea to strict liability drug-induced death before Superior Court Judge Jeanne T. Covert at the Burlington County Courthouse in Mount Holly. Under the terms of a plea deal, Nguyen is scheduled to be sentenced to five years in prison in September.

Family members wept in court as he admitted his guilt.
When questioned by his attorney, James Murphy, Nguyen admitted to supplying drugs that caused the death of the unidentified victim, who was found unresponsive at his home at 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 24, 2016, after officers received an emergency call. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim died of “fentanyl toxicity,” according to an autopsy done by the Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office. Nguyen was identified as the dealer who provided the drugs and was arrested in April.
