Combined with a 4-0 win over its counterparts from Germany on June 11, the young Americans swept both games against the European powers during the first international competition of their careers for this age group of players.

In a match that was played with 40 minutes halves, Nguyen tallied in the 16th and 35th minutes. The USA outshot the Dutch 21-10 and U.S. goalkeepers Ella McNeal and Anne Fowler combined for the shutout.
The first goal came when midfielder Kendall Conway found Nguyen at the top of the penalty area. She spun toward the net and shot over the goalkeeper from 18 yards out.
Nguyen doubled the lead and bagged her brace just over 20 minutes later. Forward Maddie DiMaria picked off a pass from the Netherlands goalkeeper and fed Nguyen, who beat the goalkeeper one-on-one. The goals were Nguyen’s first at the U-15 level.
