New York (News Center, Cornell College): Cornell College sophomore Huong “Giselle” Nguyen ’20 is a finalist in the 2018 New York Piano Festival and Competition.

Nguyen, from Vietnam, majors in piano performance at Cornell and studies piano with Professor of Music and L.L. Hamline Professor of Liberal Arts James Martin.

“I am very excited to be chosen as a finalist. Dr. Martin and I have been working hard on the piano pieces.” Nguyen said. “I’d love to say thanks to my parents, Dr. Martin, and my other music professors for always encouraging and supporting me. I also want to thank everyone on campus who has been kind and helpful to me. I feel blessed to be a Cornellian.”
