Toronto (CBC, Sept 23,2015):A man who was shot inside a downtown steakhouse is facing a string of gun-related charges, Toronto police said.
Authorities said 29-year-old Terry Nguyen, who was shot in the neck Sunday night at Michael’s on Simcoe, has been charged with nine offences.
The charges include possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and careless storage of a firearm.
Investigators said they believe the shooting at the upscale steakhouse was a targeted incident.
Police said two men opened fire inside the restaurant on Simcoe Street, wounding Nguyen and a 28-year-old woman, before fleeing.
The female victim was shot in the hip, police said. She is expected to survive.
